Carly Wallis is Senior Sustainability Manager for BBC News. As a former Production Manager, with over 15 years’ experience including Newsnight and Panorama, Carly is using her production expertise and technical understanding of newsgathering to guide BBC News, Current Affairs and World Service teams to adapt for a cleaner future. Carly is responsible for News divisional strategy implementation in alignment with the BBC Group’s Science Based Targets, launching the BBC News Green Action Plan and Journalism Climate Commitment to support all News staff to play their role. As a division that is global by design, flexible thinking and adaptability is essential. As a believer that ultimately people deliver organisational change, relationship building sits at the heart of the role. Member of Bafta Sustainability News Consortium and Association of International Broadcasters Sustainability Working Group, Carly is a keen collaborator and believes in the importance of working together to enact change to create a sustainable future for the Broadcast Media industry.
